Force
The urban settlement of Force occurred thanks to the populations of the near valleys, that were looking for a safe place in which refuge, to escape the barbaric invasions that devastated the whole area in the V century d.C. The name of the town comes from its peculiar geographical position, since it rises among the valleys of the rivers Aso, Tesino and Tronto. The old centre presents several monuments dating back to different times: the town hall presents an elegant civic tower, and was entirely built in earthenware in the late eighteenth century, while the Priorato palace with its arcades dates back to the XVI century; moreover, we suggest you visit the seventeenth-century collegiate church of San Paolo and the churches of San Taddeo (XIV century) and San Francesco (1882). Force is also famous for the original handmade copper activity, that lived a glorious period in the past, thanks to the master of art Felice Rosati, died in 1723. The old language of this craftsmen is disappeared but was really interesting and had unknown origin. The town lies in a suggestive panoramic viewpoint; from the belvedere, situated next to the Priorato, you can enjoy a wonderful sight on the Sibillini mountains.
