Monteprandone
The old town centre of Monteprandone maintains intact its old walls and typical alleys. San Giacomo della Marca (1393-1476) and the painter Carlo Allegretti (1555-1622) were born here. We suggest you visit Porta da Monte, the collegiate church and the church of Madonna della Misericordia, where a seventeenth-century organ is perfectly conserved, the birthplace of San Giacomo della Marca, the old peculiar “palazzetto” Parissi, and the convent of San Giacomo, far about 1 Km from the village, where the relics of the Saint are conserved and it is possible to admire the sixteenth-century cloister and some paintings of Cola d'Amatrice and Vincenzo Pagani.
