Rosso Piceno Wine
From Cupra Marittima we head south and, following the SS16 we pass through Grottammare and San Benedetto del Tronto. In the central area of Sa Benedetto, passed the old town hall, a short climb of 60 m and immediately turn right at the traffic lights and take the road that leads to Acquaviva.Travelled a distance of about 1 km at the intersection, after crossing the bridge, turn left and begin the climb that leads us to the medieval town of Acquaviva, a place rich in culture and tradition, perfect for those who love art and history. From Acquaviva, following the "wine road" so called because of the numerous wineries in the area, producing the typical "Rosso Piceno" Doc, you go to San Savino until you arrive to Offida defined and known in Italy and abroad as "The City of Lace ", because of the work of lace. In Offida we take the road 17 which leads us to Castignano village located on a hill, and from there proceed to Rotella. We cross the centre and begin a 2 km climb that takes us to Croce Rossa village. Here turn right to reach Montedinove and remaining on the same road, we cover a very beatiful stretch with trees to reach Montalto Marche, adopted home of Pope Sisto V.Arriving at the square of the Basilica dell' Assunta, turn left and walk along the Monte Varmine SP58, you come down until Carassai and down, passing on the right the church of Madonna della Fede begins to rise toward Montefiore Dell'Aso.When you reach the signpost of the locality, after 400 m, turn right at the crossroads and downhill till to pass through Massignano and arrive at the junction with the SS16. And we're back in Cupra Marittima.It is advisable to wear a helmet and appropriate clothing.
